🤖 Unitree Technology CEO Wang Xingxing appears on the cover of TIME magazine, with the nearly 2.7-meter-tall GD01 human-carrying mecha taking up almost the entire frame
On July 24, news broke that Unitree Technology founder and CEO Wang Xingxing, together with its human-carrying mecha product GD01, appeared on the cover of TIME magazine yesterday. In the image, GD01’s height of nearly 2.7 meters occupies almost the entire page, while Wang Xingxing stands to the right of GD01, his figure looking like a footnote; the blank space is filled with the title “The Age of Robots Has Arrived.”
It is reported that GD01 is the world’s first mass-produced human-carrying mecha. It weighs about half a ton, and users can enter the cockpit inside the mecha’s torso for control. The product can walk both bipedally and quadrupedally, and its double-fisted punches have enough force to punch through walls. Its lower double feet are connected to a carbon-fiber protective outer shell via heavy-duty mechanical hinges, enabling this massive machine with red mechanical thighs to step forward steadily and with ease.
