《Intel jumps 13%, but Korean stocks go straight to a trading halt: this market has gone crazy》
Brothers, something happened in after-hours trading on U.S. stocks last night—
Intel released its earnings: revenue was $16.1 billion, up 25% year over year, and it posted the fastest growth in nearly 15 years since 2011. Revenue from its data center AI business was $6.3 billion, surging 59% year over year. Its third-quarter guidance continued to beat expectations, and after-hours the stock briefly rocketed up 13%.
At the same time, AMD held a press conference in San Francisco to launch its next-generation AI chip, Helios. Su Zifeng took the stage and said outright that its performance exceeds Nvidia. OpenAI and Anthropic executives also came on stage to show support, promising large-scale procurement. AMD forecast that by 2030, the AI accelerator market will reach $1.4 trillion.
Intel surges, AMD challenges Nvidia, and the AI chip market outlook hits $1.4 trillion.
All good news, right?
Then on the morning of July 24, the Korean stock market opened.
The KOSPI index plunged straight down; at one point the decline widened to 6%, triggering the circuit-breaker mechanism and pausing program trading. Samsung Electronics fell by more than 6%, and SK Hynix fell by more than 5%. The rally that had just broken 7,000 points the day before was fully wiped out within a day.
Intel rose 13% after hours, but the next day Korean stocks hit a trading halt.
With all the good news used up—these four words are now the most accurate description of this market.
Intel’s stock price has already fallen 28% in July. The market “voted with its feet” on AMD’s press conference; during the event, the stock once fell to nearly 5%. SK Hynix has already retraced 25% from its historical high.
The better the earnings, the harder the drop. The more explosive the new product, the more violently it gets sold off.
Right now, pricing power in the chip sector is swinging at high frequency between “good news” and anxiety. Volatility itself is the only certainty in this sector.
People in the crypto space are far too familiar with this kind of rhythm.
Isn’t this the classic “deliver the goods right when the news lands”? Isn’t this the “good news gets used up and turns into bad news” that we see on candlestick charts every day?
The seven big tech giants in the U.S. market wiped out $800 billion overnight. Tesla plunged 14%, and Google fell 7%. These traditional “core assets” have volatility that’s no worse than meme coins.
Chip giants with market caps in the trillions are living like meme coins.
So brothers, when you’re stuck deciding whether to chase the upside on some AI-sector coin, think about Intel—
Its strongest earnings in 15 years, up 13% after hours, and the very next day Korean stocks went straight to a trading halt.
There’s nothing certain in this market. The only certainty is uncertainty itself.
The script where good news gets used up has been played over and over again in the chip sector. In crypto, it will play out even faster and even more ruthlessly.
Don’t chase the pump. Don’t catch the bag. Let the bullets fly for a bit.
Volatility is the only friend; cash is the last dignity. #Gate事件合约首发狂欢 #夏日创作营 #英特尔Q2营收创15年最快增速 $BTC $SKHY $INTC
