Golden Finance reported that on July 23, 2026, the press conference for the APEC Ministerial Meeting on Digital and Artificial Intelligence was held in Chengdu on the same day. Li Yucheng, Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced the results of the meeting. Among them, Li said that for the first time this ministerial meeting elevated “open source” to an APEC ministerial-level cooperation level for emphasis, and while acknowledging the importance of respecting intellectual property rights, it encourages each economy to support open-source practices and actively participate in international open-source community collaboration on artificial intelligence.
