#EsportsTradingSeason

It’s that time of year again.

Rosters are moving, contracts are expiring, and Twitter is 80% rumors, 20% confirmation. Welcome to #EsportsTradingSeason.

If you’ve never followed it, it feels like chaos. If you work in it, it’s the most strategic 6 weeks of the year.

Teams aren’t just buying players. They’re buying fit, brand, and momentum.

A mid-laner with a 1.4 KDA is great. A mid-laner who can run your content calendar, speak 3 languages, and doesn’t tilt on stage? That’s a franchise piece.

What I’m watching this year:

*1. Value over hype*
Budgets are tighter. Orgs are asking “what’s the ROI” before they sign. That means data, not just highlights.

*2. Regional mobility*
With visa rules and franchising shifting, we’re seeing more cross-region moves than ever. Talent pools are global now.

*3. Long-term builds*
The best orgs aren’t chasing one trophy. They’re building academies, creators, and coaching staff that compound. A trade is only as good as the system around it.

For fans, it’s drama. For players, it’s career-defining. For teams, it’s risk management with headsets on.

The deals that look boring in July are the ones that win championships in December.
