Some of the best ideas I’ve seen this year weren’t born in boardrooms. They were born at a table full of markers, laptops, and kids who were told “build whatever you want.”

That’s what is about.

We just wrapped week 2, and I’m still thinking about it. 40 students, ages 12-16, spent 5 days turning random problems into real projects. No tests. No grades. Just briefs, feedback, and shipping.

One team built an app to help local shops in Hafizabad track inventory with QR codes. Another group designed a low-cost cooling fan prototype using recycled materials. A third created a 60-second film about digital safety for parents. None of this was assigned. They picked the problems.

What stood out wasn’t the tech. It was the mindset shift.

On day 1 they asked “is this right?”
By day 5 they were asking “does this work for people?”

That’s the skill we don’t teach enough. Empathy + iteration + the courage to launch something imperfect.

To the mentors who volunteered, the parents who drove carpools, and the students who stayed late to debug: thank you. You reminded me that creativity is a muscle. And summers are the perfect time to train it.
