The United States announces new tariff measures; effective on the 24th



Jin10 Data, July 24 — On July 23, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative released a notice announcing, under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, that so-called “forced labor” would be used as the basis to impose tariffs of 10% to 12.5% on dozens of countries and regions, to replace the global import tariffs that are set to expire. The new tariffs will take effect on July 24 in U.S. Eastern Time. (Xinhua)
