Gold prices briefly surged to around 4,140 yesterday, then peaked and slipped under pressure. Currently, gold is hovering near 4,040.

Judging from the order book, this round of the uptrend has already been broken, and after failing to hold the 4,100 level, it has continued to weaken.

With expectations for a Fed rate cut pushed back, the US dollar and US Treasury yields have strengthened, continuously weighing on gold; any rebound has been weak.

The next approach is clear: keep selling on rebounds at higher levels. Watch the 4,100 area on the upside as resistance.

Trading suggestion: short at the 4,065 and 4,085 zones, targeting 4,000 and 3,950.
