US media: Iran rejected Trump’s ceasefire proposal on Thursday

Odaily Star Daily News. According to officials from Iran and Iraq, Iran on Thursday rejected a ceasefire proposal put forward by US President Donald Trump, which was submitted to Tehran by the Iraqi prime minister. The mediation effort ultimately failed, while Trump was meanwhile threatening to escalate the war and considering taking action against Iran’s key infrastructure. It is still unclear what the details of the ceasefire proposal are. However, Iranian officials said this is the only proposal currently on the table, and the Iranian government is unwilling to accept a temporary agreement that cannot resolve the question of control of the Strait of Hormuz.
