The Navy’s 83-ship formation set sail to continue carrying out an integrated offshore training and visit mission.

Around 10:00 a.m. on July 20, a Chinese Navy 83-ship formation composed of the Qijiguang and Kunlunshan vessels set sail from a military port in Zhanjiang, carrying more than 900 naval cadets and officers, as it continued to carry out a far-seas comprehensive internship and visit mission. The cadets participating in this on-board internship and visit are mainly from the Dalian Naval Academy. According to the plan, nine foreign personnel will be integrated with the Chinese cadets for mixed training, and will conduct internship training together. This training includes courses such as terrestrial navigation, celestial navigation, ocean hydrography, shipboard training, drills and management, wargaming simulations, and special topic research, aiming to comprehensively improve the cadets’ navigation skills, job-role awareness, and overall competencies, and to lay a solid foundation for their long-term development. During the formation’s berthing at foreign ports, it will also organize friendly exchanges such as official calls, deck receptions, and inspection and study visits. (Xinhua News Agency)
