The Ministry of Commerce held a national video teleconference to advance the mid-year work on promoting consumer goods trade-in programs.
On July 17, the Ministry of Commerce held a national video conference on advancing the mid-year work for replacing old consumer goods with new ones. The meeting summarized progress and results from the implementation of policies in the first half of the year and deployed key tasks for the next phase. Yuan Xiaoming, Assistant Minister of Commerce, attended and delivered remarks. Commerce authorities from Hebei, Henan, Hubei, and Sichuan made exchange speeches.
The meeting pointed out that since 2026, the Ministry of Commerce has earnestly implemented the decision-making and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Working with regions and relevant departments, it has steadily and orderly advanced the implementation of the policy for replacing old consumer goods with new ones, continuously expanded the scope of policy coverage, benefited more than 150 million person-times, effectively boosted consumption quality upgrades, promoted resource recycling and utilization, and achieved multiple policy effects.
The meeting emphasized that all regions and relevant departments should further raise their political standing, establish and practice a correct view of political achievements, and, with the spirit of “nailing things down leaf by leaf,” carefully implement the policy for replacing old consumer goods with new ones; they should further increase work efforts, strengthen departmental coordination and interaction, widely carry out policy briefings, and expand policy coverage; they should continuously enrich offline consumption scenarios, optimize subsidy review and disbursement procedures, make it convenient for the public to participate in and benefit from the policy, and enhance people’s sense of gain.
