Nine crypto giants, including Anchorage Digital, ARK Invest, BlackRock, Block, Blockstream, Coinbase, Fidelity, Galaxy, and Strategy, have officially joined hands to form the Bitcoin Security Alliance.

These big players have pledged to directly fund $15 million over the next three years to support teams of developers, researchers, and projects that will make the Bitcoin network stronger in the long run. This also includes planning defenses against future pressure from quantum computing machines.
The way this group works is fairly straightforward. Each member will pull money from their own pockets to sponsor the projects they like, rather than pooling everything into a single fund and then arguing with each other. As for day-to-day coordination, it is fully entrusted to Mike Schmidt, who is currently the CEO of Brink Capital, taking on the role primarily on a voluntary basis.
When people hear the big names behind these players, many get worried that they might slip in to manipulate the network. But I’m telling everyone clearly to rest assured: this group has absolutely no authority to direct anything. They don’t write protocol code, they don’t take sides in any of the upgrade dispute matters, and they absolutely do not represent the voice of the Bitcoin community.
