Jinse Finance reported that on July 23, according to four sources, Amazon (AMZN.O) founder and CEO Jeff Bezos urged Prime Video head Mike Hopkins to comprehensively reform the streaming service Prime Video, placing artificial intelligence at the core. The project is internally known as “Lighthouse” and will showcase Amazon’s AI capabilities to more than 200 million consumers who use Prime Video. The sources said the “Lighthouse” project is viewed as one of Amazon’s key initiatives to strengthen its position in the AI field. In addition, other AI projects, such as years of upgrades to the Alexa voice assistant to deliver more natural conversational responses, have yielded mixed results and are still operating at a loss to this day.
