In 1974, during Ford’s tenure, the S&P 500’s largest drawdown was 35%;
In 1978, during Carter’s term, the market fell 15%;
In 1982, during the Reagan era, the drawdown was 17%;
In 1990, under George H. W. Bush, it fell 20%;
In 1994, during Clinton’s term, the pullback was smaller at 8%;
In 1998, during Clinton’s second term, the decline widened to 22%;
In 2002, during George W. Bush’s period, there was a deep drawdown of 34%;
In 2010, during Obama’s tenure, it fell 17%;
In 2018, during Trump’s term, the drawdown was 20%;
In 2022, during Biden’s tenure, it fell 27%
