SpaceX shares continue to fall to a new low since its IPO! Space concept stocks plunge across the board; the market holds its breath, waiting for the “Starship” to restart test flights

US space exploration technology company SpaceX (SPCX) has recently shown weak performance in the US stock market. During today’s trading session (23rd), it once plunged 2.7%, hitting $110.85, setting a new low since its June IPO. Market attention is highly focused on the 13th test flight of Starship, which will resume tomorrow; whether it succeeds or fails may further influence the overall space-themed stock performance, including Virgin Galactic and Rocket Lab.

Led by global billionaire Elon Musk, SpaceX has faced ongoing market scrutiny since it officially went public on the Nasdaq in June 2026 under the code SPCX. On July 23, Taipei time, amid a mix of factors including earnings expectations, unlock pressure, and market sentiment, SpaceX shares saw a significant pullback during the session.

Dips to $110.85 during the day, hitting a new IPO low

According to the latest market data, SpaceX had already fallen 6.70% at the close on the 22nd, to $115.26. And today’s trading did not fully halt the decline; the stock briefly slid and touched $110.85, marking a new low since its listing in June.

As of the time of writing, SpaceX’s quote is roughly in the $113.60 to $114.00 range, with a decline of about 1.09% to 1.44%. Compared with the early days when it surged past a high of $225, the current price has dropped sharply, suggesting investors are taking a more cautious stance toward the overvalued space-tech giant.

Space-themed stocks slide across the board, with the whole internet focused on Starship’s test flight tomorrow

In fact, the sell pressure today is not only hitting SpaceX. Overall, US space-themed stocks are trending lower. Virgin Galactic (SPCE) is down 2.8%, AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) is sharply down 6.1%, and Rocket Lab (RKLB) is also down 3.6%.

Market analysts believe the key factor driving sensitivity in the current space sector is the major launch mission SpaceX is about to carry out. It is understood that SpaceX plans to try again to launch Starship (Starship) Flight 13 on July 24 (tomorrow) between 6:45 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. Taipei time.

Looking back at the morning of July 17, Flight 13 was ignited amid an atmosphere of expectation, but about 1 second before leaving the launch pad, the launch automatically halted due to an issue. This restart test flight is not only a major test of SpaceX’s technical capabilities; its outcome will also directly shape the market’s near-term confidence in the prospects for commercializing space. Investors are closely watching tomorrow’s launch status, preparing for the sharp volatility that is expected to come.
