On July 23, Anthropic chief economist Peter McCurley said that AI so far has not led to any clear rise in the unemployment rate, because it mostly enhances rather than replaces human labor. He noted that models such as Claude still cannot independently complete tasks like interpersonal coordination and face-to-face communication, and that AI is expected to have no material impact on the overall unemployment rate at least over the next year. Entrepreneur Mark Cuban believes that AI may never surpass humans in understanding behavioral consequences and making real-time judgments on the scene, and that businesses should maximize the advantages of human-AI collaboration.
