《感慨一下人生选择》

Brothers, hello everyone. I’m the trader Zhu Yidan. Before I know it, several more days have passed. In the past one or two weeks, I took my family on a trip to Qingdao for 5-6 days. I算了算, it was just a bit over 8,000 RMB, which comes out to just over 1,000 U. Thinking about the money I lost—my heart is bleeding.
Recently, I’ve finally started losing this much again. In the middle, I did make 8-9 thousand U, but the bigger picture was not there—I didn’t run. My positions were just left there and I didn’t manage them. I’ve been constantly thinking about what to do going forward. The current market is still extremely difficult. When I want to rely on trading to turn things around, the timing still isn’t mature. For now, just stay alive and don’t lose money.
Today, someone who really surprised me suddenly contacted me. About 3-4 months ago, we cut ties because I kept pushing him to pay back the money. We exchanged a few polite words at first, but his purpose was still to find me to help him with some bridging funds. Because he’s been losing quite badly lately, and I don’t have spare money to lend him. That night, we met in person. We untied the knot from before, and both of us can be said to have reconciled again.
After seeing him and talking, I was actually pretty moved. He’s two years older than me. In the past, among people his age, he was also extremely outstanding. At his peak, he could make 3-4 million RMB in a year doing real-life business. His daily life was very carefree and comfortable. The reason he ended up in this situation is because of one word: a bet.
Two years ago, he played online gambling with one of our mutual friends—baccarat, and also went to Macau for offline gambling. He dug a big pit for himself. Not only did his savings vanish, he also ended up owing over a million RMB in external debts. From that point on, he lived a day-to-day life of shoring things up by pushing other things away, never feeling secure about the future. And even until today, he hasn’t climbed out—if anything, his capital chain has become tighter and tighter. In the end, he had no choice but to confess to his family.
Although there was the unlucky part of meeting the wrong people, his own limited understanding meant he didn’t realize at the time that gambling would ruin him. I don’t have any schadenfreude about his current situation—instead, it’s more like a rabbit’s grief and fox’s sorrow, a self-alert. The truth is, in many cases, doing contracts is really not much different from traditional gambling. Facing the huge losses in the first half of this year, the pressure in my heart has also been quite heavy.
At first, I thought I could step into the sky in one move, but I didn’t manage risk properly. Now, I can’t even keep a tenth of my principal. The more this happens, the more I need to be cautious. I need to think clearly about how to achieve my goals more steadily. Life choices really are greater than effort.
Let’s encourage each other. Hope there’s still a chance to meet at the summit!
