After nearly a week of consolidation, Ethereum at the 4-hour timeframe has already broken out of a complete rising channel. The overall longer-term trend is a slow upward lift, but the key resistance above—1968—must be closely watched. I’ve repeatedly mentioned this level before; it’s a strong pressure zone.
The recent market action also confirms the effectiveness of this resistance level: every time price rallies up toward the 1950 area, it loses momentum and can’t continue higher, followed by a small pullback. The bulls’ pushing force is clearly insufficient. To open a new round of upward trend, you must break through 1968 with a body and hold above it!
Current price is around 1930, and it’s not recommended to chase longs directly here. We’re very close to the key resistance; before a breakout, the risk-reward for chasing longs is poor. It’s easy to get trapped after a small pullback, so it’s more prudent to wait for a pullback and then go long on the lower entry.
Ethereum suggestion: go long on a pullback to 1870-1888. Place protection/defense at 1835$ETH .
In the past few days, the upside momentum has been rather slow. Bullish volume can’t consistently keep up, so this is a relatively weak bullish trend. In terms of execution, be conservative: when price reaches the 1940 resistance zone, take some profit off the table first. Use the floating gains you’ve earned to bet on the subsequent breakout above 1968’s upside space—lower risk.
Also, let’s briefly review the two trades we set up earlier: the long entered around 1845 on Ethereum reached more than a hundred points of profit; and the long we positioned at 1380 even captured the highest gain of nearly three hundred points. During the session, I repeatedly reminded everyone: when price hits the target level, take partial profits and lock them in, then move the stop-loss up to break-even for a no-risk style of play.
The core position can continue to be held. If you’re worried about taking-profit getting significantly given back, you must reduce the position in advance to avoid risk. The whale has already cut more than half the position long ago!
