Evening Focus Preview: US Initial Jobless Claims Data Looms, BTC Breakout Turning-Point Window Approaching

At 20:30 tonight, the US weekly Initial Jobless Claims will be released. The prior value was 208k, and market expectations are 212k. As a high-frequency employment indicator, this data will directly affect market expectations for the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy, driving fluctuations in the US dollar and US Treasury yields. The crypto market will inevitably move in tandem as well—this is a trading catalyst you can’t ignore tonight.

If the released figure comes in between 20.8k and 21.2k, it means the employment picture is not good; then the market’s currency will strengthen.

If the released figure is <20.8k, it means the employment data looks strong—USD strengthens—then the market’s currency will be under easier pressure.

Expect bigger volatility on the charts tonight. Don’t go in with an oversized position—make sure you set a stop-loss before entering!

Every time this kind of data trading happens, it’s easy for the price to spike up and down unpredictably. I usually place my stop-loss and take-profit orders in advance. I don’t bet on direction—I wait until the data comes out, then decide after watching for 20 minutes. If I miss it, then I miss it. It’s better than getting liquidated.

Don’t go all-in before the data comes out—stay calm and don’t get carried away.

A drop below 20.8 is bearish, but the market has already digested part of it in advance—be careful of a reverse move.

After the first few times the jobless claims data was released, BTC initially dropped then rose; but this time the expected deviation isn’t that big, so volatility may be limited. However, who can say for sure? After all, proper risk control is the right way.
