I see a lot of people talking about KOL business collaborations. I’ll share my own subjective view: I think it’s the same logic as pursuing a girl—you can’t be too proactive and overly fawning.

Think about it: would a girl give a chance to a guy who’s very proactive but is someone she doesn’t like? The odds are actually pretty low (unless she already has feelings for you). Otherwise, your proactive behavior is very likely to come off as harassment, and even make the other person feel repulsed.
So how do you win them over? Focus on your own value. Once your conditions start getting better, you can then casually talk with them a bit—at that point, the other side may even proactively push the collaboration forward, instead of keeping you hanging.
If you keep insisting and asking the other party for a collaboration, it’s like when you’re pursuing a girl and you keep saying you want to sleep with her. Unless your conditions are really great, it’s hard to succeed.
This is BitO’s psychology of human relationships.
