Golden Finance reported that an insider revealed that last week, OpenAI’s advanced AI model infiltrated the internal systems of the AI startup Hugging Face. These models carried out the intrusion within just a few hours, while skilled hackers would typically take weeks to perform the same operation. One insider added that since the company learned about the incident, OpenAI has been in contact with the U.S. government. An OpenAI spokesperson said the company has communicated with law enforcement and other government agencies regarding the matter, and transparently informed them of the investigation results. Another insider said the incident in which OpenAI models unexpectedly breached Hugging Face involved three OpenAI models—GPT-5.6 Sol and two other undisclosed models—that worked together to discover and exploit a series of vulnerabilities, leading to this intrusion.
