A reporter hikes into the disaster-hit site in Zhenlong Township, Guangxi. Local water, internet, and electricity are cut off.

Since July 4, Nanning, Guangxi has seen widespread, ongoing heavy rainfall. As a result, the water level in the town of Zhenlong Township’s river upstream of the Liulan Reservoir in Hengzhou, Guangxi surged dramatically, causing road damage and building collapses. Yesterday (the 9th), as roads were gradually cleared for traffic, a reporter from CCTV, together with rescue personnel, walked on foot into the disaster-hit area of Zhenlong Township. While advancing on foot, the reporter found multiple landslides, bridges damaged, and that large machinery could not be brought in from outside; rescue supplies could only be carried by personnel walking or lifted via air.
