South Korea’s Mirae Asset has completed its acquisition of the local crypto exchange Korbit
Deep Tide TechFlow news: On July 23, according to Yonhap News Agency, Mirae Asset Group’s non-financial subsidiary, Mirae Asset Consulting, will acquire a total 97.15% stake in the virtual asset exchange Korbit. Korbit said that Mirae Asset Consulting obtained 91.7% of its shares on July 22, and plans to acquire the remaining 5.42% of shares on July 24 to complete the transaction.
Previously, Mirae Asset Consulting had announced that it would additionally acquire 1.59M shares of Korbit for a deal value of about 1.59M won. Korbit also said that after the transaction is completed, it will continue to provide services in the current manner; customer deposits and virtual assets will be held separately in accordance with South Korea’s “Virtual Asset User Protection Act” and the company’s own assets, and the entity responsible for personal information processing and the scope of use will not change.
