A whale that went long tens of millions in positions before Google’s earnings report exited its position at a loss of $740k and closed out completely
Deep Tide TechFlow news. On July 23, according to monitoring by Hyperinsight, the GOOGL long (0xC8b) disclosed last night continued to add positions after the report. From 22:00 on July 22 to 04:00 this morning, it cumulatively opened 38.8k GOOGL longs, with a total size of about $13.5578 million and a blended average price of $349.28; it added positions by about $2.8978 million compared with the time of disclosure.
After the earnings report was released, the whale began trimming positions at 05:43 this morning, and about two hours ago closed all of the above long positions. The closing price was $330.29, recording a loss of $0.7370 million.
Alphabet’s second-quarter revenue grew 24% year over year, and Google Cloud revenue grew 82% year over year; however, the company raised its full-year capital expenditure guidance from $180 billion–$190 billion to $195 billion–$205 billion. The stock briefly turned lower after-hours. As of the time of writing, the GOOGL contract on Hyperliquid is temporarily at $334.27, down 4.34% on the day.
The whale previously made a profit of about $1.7178 million in the prior round of MU longs. Currently, its only open position has switched back to MU: it went long 24.6k MU contracts with 3x leverage. The position value is about $23.9561 million, the entry average price is $977.60, the unrealized loss is about $0.0979 million, and the liquidation price is $354.91.
