Wu Says he learned that a16z partner Chris Dixon posted on X saying the post calls on the U.S. Congress to pass the CLARITY Act, to clarify regulatory responsibilities for blockchain networks and the digital asset market, and to introduce rules such as customer asset segregation, custody, and information disclosure. He said the GENIUS Act has driven expansion in the stablecoin market, while blockchain infrastructure still lacks a unified federal framework. If the CLARITY Act is passed, the U.S. will again lead the future like the commercial internet; if the U.S. continues to delay, the relevant innovation and rulemaking authority may shift to other markets.

Every time it shouts that it’s leading, the result is that it lags behind while others race ahead.

The idea is good, but if regulation can’t keep up with the pace of technological iteration, it may end up becoming a shackle that constrains innovation.
