Gold is clearly strengthening today. Spot gold reached a peak of around $4,139 during the session, setting a new high in nearly two weeks. The core of the current market action still comes down to two lines: safe-haven demand driven by the Middle East situation, and market debate over the Federal Reserve’s next interest-rate path.

From the price action, the prior support around 4,000 has already been tested. Fresh capital has moved back in, pushing gold to break above 4,100, and short-term bulls have regained control.

Next, the key levels to watch are:

Support: 4100 / 4080 / 4050
Resistance: 4140 / 4160 / 4200

My view is: as long as 4,100 is not effectively broken to the downside, gold remains mildly bullish in the short term.

If it holds above 4,140–4,160, there is a chance to continue testing 4,200; otherwise, if it falls back below 4,100, investors should watch for profit-taking after a rebound. On the technical side, the market is also monitoring further resistance around 4,200. $XAUUSD
