🛡️ Wanchain bridge hacked; NIGHT drops first then rebounds 19%

Wanchain’s cross-chain bridge was attacked. The Midnight token NIGHT briefly hit a new all-time low before rebounding 19%. Cardano founder Hoskinson took the opportunity to urge the industry to move away from traditional bridge infrastructure and switch to ZK solutions.
The 19% rebound suggests the market believes the Midnight project itself was not fatally damaged, or that the attack has been contained. But bridge security vulnerabilities are structural issues—historically, after bridges like Ronin and Wormhole were hacked, token prices often fell first and then recovered, but trust repair takes longer.
Hoskinson’s ZK call is a long-term direction, but in the short term, cross-chain bridges remain an essential requirement for capital flow. Whether NIGHT can hold steady afterward depends on whether Wanchain discloses the specific loss amount and the compensation plan.
