In recent days, the semiconductor and storage sectors have seen a sharp pullback. The sea of green on the screen has kept many friends up all night. A lot of friends have asked me, “Has AI peaked?” “Storage stocks are down so badly—has the logic broken? Should we cut our losses and run?”

First, let me be clear about my judgment: the recent selloff is, in essence, a “washout” after extremely crowded trading, not a collapse of the fundamentals. The market is full of macro negative headlines like South Korea deleveraging, non-farm payroll data, and expectations of rate hikes—but these are just excuses. The real reason is that the stocks rose too fast earlier, leaving too many profit-taking holders. The main capital, riding on macro headlines, uses the downturn to shake out the uncommitted shares.

The current storage sector has not rotted away at all; instead, thanks to this latest sell-off creating a “pit,” it has fallen into a golden-level value-for-money opportunity. Don’t try to guess where the absolute bottom is—just confirm whether the underlying supply-and-demand contradictions in the industry have been resolved. As long as NVIDIA is still worried about the “memory wall,” and as long as the giants’ AI arms race hasn’t stopped, the vast “stars and seas” of storage will continue to shine ahead of us.

For a long time, we’ve had a misconception: as long as NVIDIA keeps making GPUs (compute chips) faster and faster, AI large models will become smarter and run more smoothly. That is, “the large model handles the ordering, and NVIDIA handles the cooking.”
