During the recent airdrop season, anti-sybil efforts on task platforms have made the points system feel just like work—so cutthroat that I’ve noticed some PFP projects are starting to talk about “long-term branding.”

Honestly, I really like reading how those whitepapers describe “member benefits,” but when it comes time to execute, most of it turns into giving you an airdrop expectation, and then everyone rushes in to grind. Long-term? Is that “long-term” a week, a month, or a quarter? For me, any project that can last beyond three months is already showing patience.

I trust on-chain data more. I want to see whether wallets are truly accumulating value, not just trying to scrape the floor price by placing orders to game it. As for the ones that immediately hype “brand and ecosystem,” I’d rather dig into their old promises and check whether they left themselves a way out. Maybe the real ones that can survive aren’t the loudest, but the ones who keep a low profile and execute properly.
