Just took a look at the on-chain records of a certain bridge—its multisig address got swapped to a new owner, and a bunch of people were freaking out in the middle of the night. Let me just say this: cross-chain bridges’ “waiting for confirmation” isn’t some kind of magic. Behind the scenes, it’s the oracle feeding the price, whether the multisig people are still “alive,” and any delay in even one step can make someone’s nerves go completely shredded.

Haven’t people been arguing a lot about re-staking the “Russian doll” style lately? “Shared security” sounds huge and impressive, but when you break it down, it’s really trust stacked upon trust like buff effects layered one after another. And one small bug can end up chaining all on-chain assets together into a string of tanghulu.

I’m pretty timid. I’d rather wait an extra half hour for confirmation than get pulled rug in the middle of the night. It’s like playing a pixel game—if the pieces fly apart, you can still put them back together; if your life is gone, you have to start over. Anyway, it’s all on-chain adventuring—small fixes and patching are fine, as long as you don’t blow up.
