Just checked my wallet and found a contract approval still hanging there—its allowance is still unlimited. I completely forgot when I clicked it. I looked through the transaction history and it was from some earlier chain game. At the time, I was thinking, “Let’s just dip a toe,” but the game’s economic model basically collapsed: the coin price went to zero, the studio ran off, and all that remained was that approval still sitting there.
Me, who constantly rants about other people not checking contract approvals—last night I almost got burned. Luckily I didn’t leave anything valuable in the wallet, otherwise who knows when I would have been taken for a ride. Anyway, before going to sleep now I’ve gotten into the habit of checking approvals—nothing beats it more than those “sleep reminders.” Don’t look at me—I'm always cursing chain games. But I never hold back on what needs to be cursed, and I never let approvals I should remove linger.
