The recent airdrop season is really lively. Every task platform seems to roll out promotions one after another, almost like a pyramid scheme. The points-based system makes people feel as exhausted as if they were going to work. But honestly, when I look at those posts yelling “Go, go, go” and “You’re definitely going to get it,” my first reaction is to quickly check how many contract approvals I’ve authorized in my wallet. Anyway, I’m a bit scared—phishing sites’ playbooks are getting more and more elaborate. If you tap the signature authorization in the wrong place, the money is gone.

How do I avoid impulsively placing orders? It’s simple: set a 24-hour cool-down period. No matter how tempting the project looks, I’ll first write it down in a note and jot down a couple of lines about “why I want to rush in,” then check again after a day. After a day, my rationality comes back, and more often than not I end up thinking, “Forget it.” And if I really can’t hold back, at least I’ll check whether the approved contracts are legit, or use a new wallet. Either way, making money isn’t easy—don’t let impulsiveness feed your principal to the dogs.
