I keep seeing people there showing off their accounts—saying their lending positions are just 3% away from the liquidation line, and still yelling, “zoom out / have a bigger picture.” I really can’t believe it. The liquidation line isn’t a red line; it’s a cliff. Standing right at the edge just to enjoy the wind is fun—until a pullback sends you packing in one wave.
After a few close calls where I almost got liquidated, I’ve become more sensible: when you’re three steps away from the red line, don’t go thinking about catching the dip and adding more first. Pay back part of what you borrowed, or top up collateral to cover the shortfall. Don’t tell me you’ve calculated the volatility—so what? When those “pins” get driven in on-chain, they won’t argue with you.
Lately I’ve been seeing a bunch of AI agents there hyping automated trading, talking it up to the heavens. I’m curious, though—how many of the parameters for these contract pools have they genuinely examined closely? Security audits are one thing; liquidity depth and liquidation mechanics are another. Don’t just listen to the storytelling—first, check how far your position is from the cliff.
Anyway, I can be harsh, but I won’t lie to you. If you’re not going to add to your position, first reduce your debt—don’t wait until the warning pop-up comes and then start fumbling around.
