Just saw in the group chat that an elder was cursing because a certain node’s delay was over ten seconds, and it almost made him get liquidated. Honestly, you’ve seen this kind of thing a lot—when I think about it later, it’s pretty ridiculous. You stare at the “latest” blocks on your screen, thinking you’re the Flash, but the RPC on the other end hasn’t even woken up. What people call “on-chain real-time” often just means a node tells you, “I just received it,” and it doesn’t mean the whole network has confirmed it. As for those cross-chain bridge incidents and the times oracles suddenly report an absurd price—those are basically cases where consensus didn’t wait long enough, and the pool got picked clean. Anyway, I’m not in a rush to chase the market now. I’ll wait for two or three blocks of confirmations before I move—after all, it won’t be delayed by more than a few seconds, and it’s better than ending up the fool who overpays. Also, those public RPCs that claim to be “decentralized” can sometimes be less reliable than running a lightweight node locally yourself. That’s it for now—next time, I’ll break down a few pool parameters for you.
