To be honest, this whole royalties dispute has been going back and forth for years, and it’s still a complete mess on the ground. When I see creators on Twitter raging about how the secondary market doesn’t pay royalties, putting on a look like they’ve been betrayed—I feel absolutely nothing inside. Once the incentive chain is severed, who’s going to keep talking to you about “sentiment”?

Put simply, royalties are essentially a way for creators to generate additional revenue from their own IP. In the mint and breakout stages—when the liquidity premium is at its highest—you didn’t harvest enough. So why would you expect to still be able to skim off another layer of profit when the floor drops?

With attention rotating this fast now, even longtime players are advising new suckers not to grab the very last baton—it just goes to show the market has already put the answer out in the open. Value capture doesn’t come from moral coercion. You have to build your own “rent-collection” door, like a protocol-fee switch or a licensing-style on-chain setup. Don’t count on sympathy to support you for life. That’s it for now.
