Jin10 Data July 18, 2024—According to AXIOS, three officials from the US and Israel said the Trump administration has informed Israel that, before any possible expansion of military action against Iran, it will dispatch dozens of refueling aircraft to the country. Previously on Tuesday, during a Situation Room meeting, after Trump heard briefings on several new military plans, he was considering launching a large-scale offensive against Iran, with an area of operations broader than the current strikes focused on the Strait of Hormuz. US and Israeli officials said Trump may order an escalation of military action within the next few days. The US currently has about 30 military tankers at Ben-Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv and about 30 at Ramon Airport in southern Israel. Israeli officials said the US hopes to send dozens more tankers in the coming days to restore the number of refueling aircraft to the level at the start of the war. Israeli officials said the US military is more inclined to operate tankers from the Ben-Gurion Airport because other air bases in the region are more vulnerable to attacks from Iran, making them less safe for US aircraft.
