Meta considering renting AI computing power to external clients
BiJie.com reports that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that, due to external high-price offers, Meta is considering leasing out some AI computing power to external parties; however, the company said that it is not currently experiencing computing capacity overcapacity, and the industry is also generally in short supply. Meta is exploring two types of cloud services: charging per call for hosted models, or directly selling raw computing power, a model similar to CoreWeave. The Meta Model API has been opened, and Muse Spark 1.1 is being charged for; he also mentioned that SpaceX’s practice of leasing computing power to external companies in the short term is very interesting, and Meta is also evaluating similar high-price deals.
