Edel Finance Releases Markets: Private Execution for Programmable Markets
New York, New York, July 9th, 2026, Chainwire
With Runway already proving demand on Canton Network, Edel Finance is preparing its most ambitious product yet: a Canton native perpetuals venue where positions stay private and settlement stays on-chain.
Edel Finance expanded its product offering with the introduction of Edel Markets, a Canton-native perpetuals venue designed for tokenized equities, commodities, and future multi-asset markets. The announcement follows the rollout of Runway on the Canton Network and marks the company's latest step in building infrastructure for tokenized capital markets.
The launch comes as tokenized equities continue to gain momentum among financial institutions exploring blockchain-based market infrastructure. Edel Markets is expected to launch later this quarter, with the waitlist now open.
Edel Markets is built around four pillars: private position state, central limit order book (CLOB) execution, native Canton settlement, and API first infrastructure. Every order follows a clean institutional path, from trader or API into the orderbook, through the matching engine and risk and margin checks, to settlement on Canton, with position state kept private throughout. It is the market structure professionals already trust, rebuilt for programmable assets, and it addresses the problem that has kept serious capital on the sidelines of on-chain derivatives: on fully public venues, everyone can see your book.
Strategic Rationale for Canton Network Selection
The choice of network is the strategy. Canton was designed for regulated financial markets and institutional settlement workflows, with an architecture where transaction data is visible only to the parties entitled to see it. Equities and commodities live inside complex disclosure, compliance, and information-barrier environments that crypto-native derivatives venues were never built to handle. For these markets, confidentiality is not a preference but an operating requirement. Edel Markets extends Canton’s foundation from settlement and tokenization into active trading infrastructure, adding the hedging, leverage, and directional exposure that turn tokenized assets into living markets.
Momentum That Is Already Built
Edel is not arriving at this launch cold. Runway, the company’s participation platform on Canton, launched in private beta and quietly amassed nearly 5,000 users without a single public marketing push. Its anchor partnership with Cantex, one of Canton Network’s most active trading venues, has seen daily trading volume approach $100,000 at its peak, proof that real liquidity can flow through compliant, enterprise-grade infrastructure.
The community has been rewarded along the way. Edel has already distributed Canton Coin (CC) rewards across three separate distributions to its early users, and with Runway’s public launch opening the doors to a broader audience, that early traction becomes the springboard for what comes next. The lesson of Runway is simple: there is serious demand for institutional-grade tooling on Canton. Edel Markets is the answer to where that demand goes.
A Full Stack for Tokenized Markets
With Markets, Edel’s architecture comes into focus as open finance infrastructure for tokenized equities, built as a connected whole. Edel Lending provides the collateral layer, where tokenized assets work productively. Runway provides the participation layer. Edel Vaults adds structured exposure, and Edel Markets completes the stack with private execution, covering how tokenized assets are held, put to work, and traded. Ecosystem alignment is deepening in parallel: a partnership with @Cansai_App enables trading of the Edel token, expanding liquidity options for holders and signaling Edel’s intent to be a foundational layer across Canton, not a single-product play.
The Bigger Picture
Edel Finance is building being not just an exchange. It is a proof of concept for what Canton Network can become: a place where institutional participants, retail users, and infrastructure partners co-exist on shared, compliant rails, and where the full market structure of traditional finance, from lending to derivatives, runs on-chain without broadcasting every position to the world. Runway proved the demand. Edel Markets is built to meet it. The waitlist is open now at edel.finance/products/markets.
About Edel
Edel Finance is building the on-chain credit layer for tokenized equities. The company is creating an institutional-grade money market where investors can lend, borrow, and earn yield on tokenized stocks, bringing the multi-trillion-dollar securities lending and margin finance industry onto blockchain rails. In a significant institutional move, Edel has brought on Brad Klaas.
Klaas previously served as Global Head of Securities Lending at BlackRock, where he oversaw one of the largest securities lending programs in the world, managing tens of billions in lendable assets and working directly with prime brokers, custodians, and institutional counterparties.
