CoinWorld news, according to edaily, Bank of Korea Governor Shin Hyun-song stated at a plenary session of the National Assembly's Finance and Economy Committee that South Korea should introduce a bank-centered won stablecoin system as soon as possible, with bank consortiums taking the lead in issuance, while establishing statutory policy institutions to mitigate risks. He called for accelerating the legislative process of the Digital Asset Basic Act. Yoo Dong-soo, chairman of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee, also urged prompt legislative action and requested the Financial Services Commission to submit a government plan.
