Someone finally figured out which version the "dialogue should be pinned to." Line number dependency is indeed a longstanding difficult problem in Code Review. Looking forward to trying it out after Beta.

Zed launches version control system DeltaDB: operation flow replaces Commit, integrating conversation and code changes into one
CryptoWorld News reports that Zed founder Nathan Sobo has launched DeltaDB, a new-generation version control system. It generates unique identifiers through fine-grained edits (deltas), allowing users to jump to the code evolution history at any time, resolving the disconnect between changes and discussions. Conversations are tied to specific deltas and do not rely on line numbers, making it easy to jump from discussions to versions or to roll back. The CRDT implementation enables cross-device collaboration, merging discussions with code, removing the need for PRs/code reviews. Testing registration is now open, and a Beta launch is expected within a few weeks.
