Half a year from 2000U to a complete wipeout, I finally quit contract gambling

It's a bit embarrassing to say, half a year ago I entered the crypto world with 2000U, thinking I could tenfold my contract investments.
My first time playing Gate's USDT perpetual contract, 100x leverage on a BTC contract, with an 800U floating profit in five minutes, my hands were trembling, I immediately closed all positions for profit, that day I even added two eggs to my takeout.
Looking back now, that was the ticket to hell.

After tasting the sweetness, I completely lost myself, couldn't sleep without two trades a day, switching back and forth between altcoins and Meme coin contracts, losing then adding more, winning then doubling down. The most memorable moment was with 300U trading a new Meme coin contract, which surged 150% at open, I thought it could go higher, so I directly added 50x leverage with full position, but ten minutes later it crashed, wiping out my account, leaving only single digits.

That night I sat on the balcony for half an hour, and only after the wind blew did I realize this money was earned from three months of hard work.

After that, I locked the leverage at 5x, only took small positions to test the waters, started watching others' sharing on Gate's forum, learning to do spot dollar-cost averaging for BTC, spending only half an hour a day on charts, no longer chasing news.

Now my account hasn't recovered yet, but my mindset is much more stable, I won't lose sleep over a single candlestick's rise or fall, and I no longer fantasize about hundredfold coins.

The harshest lesson crypto has taught me isn't how to make money, but how to respect the market.

To friends still struggling in contracts, a sincere word: don't gamble your living expenses, surviving in the market is more important than anything else.
