These past two days I’ve been glued to LST stacking and re-staking. The more I look, the more it feels like the returns aren’t just “falling from the sky”… In plain terms, there are only two sources: one is the “slow money” from basic staking, and the other is the “front-running money” from re-staking/points/incentives. The latter looks high, but in reality, a lot of it is people being willing to put money in to buy the narrative and liquidity. When I think about that, I feel a little sour. When I see others posting their statements and bills, I’d be lying if I said I don’t get envious—but I also know I’m more afraid that I’ll fall asleep and wake up to find the rules have changed.
The risks are also very straightforward: the underlying staking setup is something you can probably understand. But when you add another layer of delegation, contracts, and forfeiture/penalty logic, if something goes wrong, everything blows up at once—stacked buffs detonating together. Recently, the staking unlocks and token unlock calendar are being shown off every day to scare people; the anxiety about sell pressure is real. But what I care about more right now is: “who will be the one taking over the returns?” I’ll start with a small position, keep track of the wallet relationships, add more only after I can understand it. If I can’t understand it, then I’ll just leave it.
