CryptoWorld News reports that Zcash (ZEC) developer Shielded Labs recently disclosed a critical vulnerability in its Orchard privacy pool, which could threaten the integrity of the token supply. If exploited, attackers could create an unlimited number of counterfeit ZEC tokens without detection. Omkar Godbole stated, "It's like someone secretly gaining access to the Federal Reserve's dollar printing press, and even the Fed can't detect these extra dollars being printed." Notably, the vulnerability was discovered with the help of the recently released Opus 4.8 AI model by Anthropic, posing a serious challenge to the entire crypto industry. Currently, ZEC has dropped 42% in the past 24 hours.

A 42% decline indicates that the market has voted with its feet—a crisis of trust in privacy coins.
