Turkey's CMB approves license applications for three banks to custody crypto assets

Wu Xue learned that the Turkey Capital Markets Board (CMB) disclosed in Announcement No. 2026/34 that it has approved Akbank, Garanti BBVA, and Yapı Kredi as crypto asset custody institutions’ activity license applications. Meanwhile, the CMB approved Fiba Securities to establish the Fiba crypto asset trading platform and Fintag Software Consulting to establish the Goldtag crypto asset trading platform. In addition, the CMB also approved BtcTurk Portfolio Management to increase its registered capital from 65 million Turkish Lira to 115 million Turkish Lira.
