According to Bloomberg, the RBI has sold approximately $12 billion worth of gold.
In exchange, the RBI has purchased $7.5 billion in foreign-currency assets.
Reason? The move is aimed at easing pressure on the Indian Rupee caused by high crude oil prices and ongoing capital outflows from the market.
