Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 26 — According to official Optimism announcements, the OP mainnet has made its first adjustment to transaction ordering rules today. Previously, for many years, the scheduler only used the "highest priority Gas fee first" mechanism. Now, a new priority sorting option based on staking has been added.

This experiment will last four weeks (until June 23), and was approved earlier this month by the Optimism governance body. Users can choose to participate voluntarily. Participation requires staking at least 100,000 OP tokens into the PolicyEngineStaking contract.

The experiment is divided into two phases: the first phase (Week 1) uses FIFO (First-In, First-Out) ordering, where staking amounts above the minimum threshold do not affect priority; the second phase (Weeks 2-4) switches to a weighted priority Gas multiplier mechanism based on staking duration, where longer staking times result in higher priority.

Users who do not participate in the experiment will continue with the existing transaction ordering rules, and the PGA mechanism will operate as usual.
