What is this about: The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed the regulatory exemption decision that would allow third-party "tokenized US stock" trading. Prior to this, multiple institutions warned that tokenizing US stocks without company approval would make dividend payments and shareholder voting extremely chaotic.
Why it matters: This indicates that the most disruptive direction of tokenizing real-world assets (RWA), specifically US stocks, is facing significant resistance from traditional securities regulation and underlying foundational friction.
