Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 25 — Tether announced it will collaborate with the Georgian government to launch the official stablecoin GEL₮, which is pegged to the Georgian Lari and will be issued under a specially developed stablecoin regulatory framework. GEL₮ aims to serve as a digital representation of the Georgian Lari, used to reduce transaction costs, enable near real-time settlement, support programmable payments, and improve the efficiency of fund transfers in cross-border transactions and digital financial systems. Tether stated that this project is expected to support cross-border trade, fintech development, and digital payments.
