Shenzhou 23 manned spacecraft launched into space
At 11 p.m. on May 24, the Long March 2F Yao 23 carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou 23 manned spacecraft was ignited and launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The crew consists of Zhu Yangzhu, Zhang Zhiyuan, and Li Jiaying.
SpaceX, under Elon Musk, completes the 12th Starship test launch
On May 22, local time, American aerospace company SpaceX conducted its 12th flight test of the Starship series. In this test, the company’s most powerful giant launch vehicle, Starship V3, was sent into space for the first time. The flight lasted about an hour, and the Starship ultimately landed in the Indian Ocean according to the pre-set test plan and experienced a planned controlled explosion, marking the official end of this flight test.
