People think stablecoins are as stable as bank account balances, but in reality, as soon as there's a little turbulence, everyone runs faster than anyone else. De-pegging, to put it simply, is just a bank run mentality taking the first step. Recently, I've seen a bunch of testnet incentives and points farming, and in the group chat, people are asking every day, "Will the mainnet issue tokens?" I've been excited about it too, but then I think: if the reserve transparency isn't clear, and something really happens, no matter how many points you have, it won't help... Anyway, I now treat stablecoins as cash that could "suddenly get a collective scare," so I diversify, hold less interest, and just go with that for now.
