Recently, I've been seeing everyone speculate about whether the ecosystem will move or stay after a major mainstream blockchain network upgrade/hard fork.
While scrolling through memes, I can't help but think: frankly, if a newcomer really wants to see if a project is reliable, don't look at the K-line first; look at whether it dares to show its true colors.
My current three simple methods are:
GitHub shouldn't be the kind where "the last update was in the last century"; at least you should see someone seriously fixing bugs and responding to issues.
Audit reports shouldn't just be a logo; focus on whether they clearly state what was found, how it was fixed, and whether there was a re-audit.
Multi-signature upgrades are also quite important; you may not recognize the signers, but at least avoid single-person control, and preferably have a delay or announcement period to give you time to react.
Anyway, I don't see myself as a teacher—just a casual reminder in the elevator: don't put all your trust in a single phrase like "we are very secure."
